Discovering Buddhism
The Discovering Buddhism programme is the result of the combined efforts of a number of FPMT teachers and spiritual program coordinators, under the guidance and advice of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The aim of the Discovering Buddhism program is to give participants a solid footing in the practice of Mahayana Buddhism. By engaging in this program, participants will receive an experiential taste of the Buddha's teachings, some retreat experience, and will have the skills they need to make their lives more meaningful.The Discovering Buddhism programme comprised of 14 modules taught over approximately 3 years The 14 modules : Mind and Its Potential - How to Meditate - Presenting the Path - The Spiritual Teacher - Death and Rebirth - All About Karma - Refuge in the Three Jewels - Building a Daily Practice - Samsara and Nirvana - How to Develop Bodhichitta - Transforming Problems - Wisdom of Emptiness - Introduction to Tantra - Intensive practice experiences. Students, who so wish, can receive a certificate of completion of the course. Within each module, which takes place over 2 weekends, students are asked to attend teachings, to participate in discussion groups and in question and answer sessions, to engage in meditation practices relevant to the topics being taught, to read the suggested texts and teaching transcripts, and do short retreats. It is possible to attend one or several weekends if one is not able to attend all the weekends due to other commitments. ______________________________ Transforming problems with the Ven.
